Ariel: When Art Meets Fashion

Ariel and Rick

Ariel believes that "plainness in clothing is the enemy of art."  For my part, I believe when you see an artistic diva whose creative obsessions find expression from head to sole, it would be a shame not to capture her on digital film.

Ariel, who blogs over at Artfully Awear, was so fun to photograph. She studied art history and her blog is as much a miniature encyclopedia on art topics ranging from contemporary Western to Japan's medieval period. And each time, she finds a way to translate it into an outfit, which she chronicles in self portraits.

Today, I had the delight of working with her for a "street style" photo shoot. To see more of Ariel, check out her website.

  1. I love this! I had such a great time with this shoot, and you really captured the look so well! So funny that we both had the same idea about the blue scaffolding. You have quite an eye. Thank you for sharing your passion & skill with me!

P.S. I think the last photo is my favorite :)

  3. Oh, she's gorgeous! And I love the artistic palette that she brings to her wardrobe. Definitely commendable. I also love how she keeps it all at bay under a sophisticated jacket. Beautiful. Great photos, Rick!
